OVERVIEW



The American-Kurdish Economic Institute (AKEI) provides research, development, and consulting services in support of our mission to advance the sustainable economic development of KRG and Iraq and to promote economic cooperation with the United States.

AKEI was founded in 2016 in response to the economic crisis, recognizing the need for a dedicated independent economic institute specialized in the Kurdistan Region. AKEI aims to deliver research and analysis to better inform policy-making and promote stabilization, diversification, and inclusive growth of the economy.

Our sectors of focus are: Agriculture, Industry, Trade, Investment, Banking, Tourism, Housing, Information & Technology, and Women & Economics.

STATUS



AKEI is an independent think-tank registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Virginia, USA and also registered to operate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
